Sky-High Gas Prices Affect Eastern Idahoans

Even after leaping ahead an hour, it seems like Eastern Idahoans still can’t catch up to the ever-escalating price of gas.

“I think they are ridiculous. There’s no need for it and no justification for them, that’s for sure,” said Nancy Goodnight.

In just over a month, the average price of gas in Idaho has leaped 50 cents.

According to gasbuddy.com, the cost of gas will continue to trend upwards.

“It’s not good. Being a single mom, you can’t just go and get gas all the time. You have to watch what you’re doing,” said Chassie Kelly.

Idaho is still 17 cents below the national average, and our neighbors in Oregon are mere pennies away from paying $4 dollars per gallon. However, for people like Linda Ferris, the gas jump has affected more than her pocketbook.

“You have to decide what you’re going to give up in order to go to work. Yesterday it was, ‘No, I don’t think I’ll take the grandbaby to get her picture taken at the portrait studio.’ I don’t have that extra money to spend,” said Ferris.

“It’s killing us. If it wasn’t for the car that my son gave us, I probably wouldn’t get by. I’d have to quit,” said Goodnight

According to gasbuddy.com, the cheapest place you can get gas in all of Idaho is in Idaho Falls at the Sam’s Club on 17th Street
