Food Drive Makes Record Contribution

Just because the holidays are over, doesn’t mean that it isn’t the season for giving.

Eastern Idaho’s “Dump Hunger” food drive recently wrapped up their fundraising efforts and collected a record-breaking amount of canned goods for local food banks.

“Dump Hunger” coordinators say that almost 194,000 pounds of food was collected and will benefit food banks in the area. Apart from canned goods, monetary donations were also collected and $15,000 will go to the East Idaho Community Food Bank.

“It’s just an incredible testiment to the generosity of eastern Idaho and the people of Idaho Falls,” said Josh Johnson, Dump Hunger coordinator.

Western States, Albertsons supermarkets and Wells Fargo each donated $20,000 to the drive.
