Will Small Business Saturday take off?

The day after Thanksgiving is of course Black Friday, but not many people have heard about Small Business Saturday.

Many small businesses are participating on both days, especially in Rexburg, to combat their big business competitors. The city is in the heart of East Idaho’s small business network.

From game stores to snow shops, they all are having holiday sales. Owners, like Eminent Car Audio’s Joey Schultz said supporting small businesses is more important than people think.

“For me, as a small-business owner, it’s important to keep money here locally in the community. When you go out to Walmart, sure we’re all looking for the best deal but that money, truthfully, is not staying here. You go out and support locally just like someone like me and you gave me money that I can go out and spend on Christmas within the community.”
