Idaho Potato Truck makes Duck Race appearance
The Idaho Potato Commission’s “Big Idaho Potato Truck” is in Idaho Falls for the Duck Race weekend.
The truck’s traveling “tater team” planned several public appearances, including a stop at Aero Mark and a photo-op with the bi-plane that appeared in a national potato television commercial last year.
It was scheduled to be part of Rotary Club Duck Race activities Friday and Saturday.
The 25th Anniversary Duck Race is sponsored by the Idaho Falls Rotary Club. Club donations and matching public and private funds have resulted in more than $4 million for greenbelt improvements since 1986.
Friday activities include the Classic Car Duck Cruise beginning at Snake River Landing at 6 p.m. A free family concert featuring the Affection Collection is scheduled from 8-10 p.m. In front of the Driftwood Inn on River Parkway.
Saturday events will be on west side of the Idaho Falls green belt. They include boat races from 10 a.m. To 1 p.m. Idaho Falls native Alex Henry will attempt a tight rope walk over the Snake River at 2 p.m. Other activities include a ping pong ball shoot at 3 p.m., the dropping of the ducks at 4 p.m. and flyovers at 1,2,3 and 4 p.m.
