Registered sex offenders: keeping your kids safe
Over the last few years, Bonneville county saw a decrease in sex offender registration arrests.
This includes offenders who do not inform the county if they’ve moved or they don’t register when they are supposed to.
“The biggest issue is a lot of the times things what will happen is they’ll live in a residential area, they’ll start being harassed by people that live in that area or things of that nature so they think “well I’ll move and get a new start” and sometimes if they’ve had that experience they don’t want to let other people know where they’re moving to,” said Sgt. Jeff Edwards, public information officer for Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office
Another concern is finding out the information to keep your kids safe and learning if sex offenders live in your area.
Monitoring your kids online activity is another concern as well, many predators or offenders will target children easily that way.
