Bannock County Sheriff’s Office search for missing woman

The Bannock County Sheriff Office is asking for the public’s help to find a Pocatello woman who has been missing since Friday.

Jennifer Ann Mikkelson, 43, was last seen Friday at 5:30 a.m. when her husband was leaving for work. After finding out she didn’t go to work that day her family looked for her on Saturday.

Mikkelson’s pickup truck was later found in the Scout Mountain area at noon, along with a five page suicide note.

According to Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen, Mikkelson has been suffering from depression from a recent loss in the family.

Authorities were contacted around 2:13 p.m. and Bannock County search and rescue, Snake River search and rescue’s dog team and the U.S. Forest Law Enforcement were dispatched.

The search continued the rest of Saturday into all day Sunday. The search was called off since no hard evidence was found of Mikkelson in the area besides around her truck.

Nielsen is asking for anyone with information about Mikkelson to step forward. You can call the Sheriff’s Office at 236-7114.
