Firefighters make progress on Bobcat fire
With the help of a heavy helicopter providing water drops, firefighters made good progress Wednesday on the Bobcat fire near North Fork.
Salmon-Challis National Forest officials said firefighters built handlines along the southern perimeter of the fire.
An air tanker dropped retardant on the northern flank, which is expected to help keep the fire in check until firefighters can reinforce their handlines.
The forest transitioned management of the fire to the Great Basin Incident Management Team 5.
