Truck hits I-15 overpass near Blackfoot
Update: While trying to the load the excavator back onto a trailerKelly Kofoed, of Blackoot ,was injured when the unit slid off and rolled down an embankment. Kofoed was transported by ground ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
A semi-truck carrying a track hoe hit a overpass on I-15 near Blackfoot Thursday morning.
Idaho State Police said Joseph Kitchens, 38, of Evanston, Wyoming hit the Riverton Road overpass with the excavator, knocking it off the trailer and causing debris to fall on the road.
It happened about 7:50 a.m. near milepost 91.
Kitchens was not wearing his seatbelt, police said.
