Double Down Betting Bar and Grill is looking to move shop.

The company has officially filed an application to move their historic horse racing operations to Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls.

This is in light of the highly controversial slot-like betting machines over the past year. They are one of three locations in the state allowed to operate the machines.

Melissa Bernard, CEO of Intermountian Racing said, if approved, the move won’t be easy, but they’re up for the challenge.

“The governor was very clear in his veto message, that it was not their intent to have these off track, and we’re just trying to be right by our community, our legislature and our governor. We want to do what he said, and we want to find a way if it’s approved and if our community embraces us to get back to the track,” she said.

A conditional use permit will be reviewed on Sept. 1.
