Make a Wish Fundraiser
It’s all about making wishes come true, and for a 10-year-old boy who is battling cancer his only wish is to meet the mouse, Mickey Mouse.
Going to Disney World would be a dream come true, especially for a young boy who fought so hard to get better.
The community has banned together to make sure his dream becomes a reality.
Kris Miner, owner of Rumor’s Bar in Pocatello has been a supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation for years.
This is her 5th year in a row raising money for the non-profit organization that makes dreams come true for sick and terminally ill children.
Miners said she does it because they are a good charity.
“They do good things for children who are sick,” said Miners.
Locals could buy food, grab bags for $3, purchase raffle tickets and dunk someone in the dunk tank.
Items were also auction off to the crowd.
One volunteer says the feeling she walks away with is contagious.
“It has a ripple effect, it not only effects our community but it effects like in our case the child the family there’s just no feeling like it. It’s a feeling you cant even though you may donate money you cant buy it,” said Paula Jensen a volunteer.
According to makeawish.org survey, 89 percent of parents, doctors, volunteers and nurses have seen children’s physical health improve after their wish was granted.
“Have that dream, have that make a wish where he can go meet Batman or Disney world. Or something like that,” said Lynzi Driscoll a volunteer.
