Missing Pocatello woman found

Jennifer Ann Mikkelson, who had been missing since last weekend, was found dead by search and rescue teams Saturday morning.

Sheriff Lorin Nielsen said Bannock County search and rescue and Snake River search and rescue’s dog team found Mikkelson’s body around 10:30 a.m. She had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mikkelson was first reported missing last Saturday when her family found her pickup truck in the Scout Mountain area with a five page suicide note. Her family started looking for her when they discovered she didn’t go to work on Friday.

Sheriff Nielsen said detectives don’t suspect foul play.
