Beach Boys perform at Portneuf Wellness Complex

They made their name singing hit songs like “I Get Around” and “Fun, Fun, Fun,” and Monday night, the Beach Boys brought some of that fun to eastern Idaho.

Surviving members of the group were in Pocatello to perform at the inaugural concert for the brand new Portneuf Wellness Complex.

Organizers told Local News 8 that they expected to fill 6,000 of the almost 11,000 seats at the complex Monday.

“I have followed Beach Boys ever since they first came out,” said Beach Boy fan Ron Ferguson.

“I grew up listening to them. My older brother was a big Beach Boy fan,” said Mark Chapman.

The concert began at 7:30 p.m. with an opening act by country rock group, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

The Wellness Complex will have its grand opening Sept. 12, but other big acts are expected to perform before then, including the Australian Pink Floyd on Sept. 8.
