Detailed Forecast For Aug 21st

Mid and high level clouds from a weak weather disturbance is showing up on infrared satellite imagery over the Central Mts. this morning. However, this band is breaking up and I expect it to dissipate before the eclipse occurs in the late morning. One other issue is smoke from nearby wild fires causing a bit of haze, though the sun is sufficiently high in the sky by eclipse totality that this isn’t a problem.

No other major weather impacts for Monday.

A wave of low pressure will move through the northern Great Basin on Tuesday, causing scattered thunderstorms near the Utah border. On Wednesday the storm activity will move north, possibly into the S. Snake Plain.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 80’s.

Tonight: Mostly clear with lows in the mid to upper 40’s.

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the mid to upper 80’s.

Wednesday: Highs in the mid 80’s, with a chance of T-Storms in southern Idaho.
