Flash Flood Warning for Powerline burn area

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for… Central Bannock County in southeastern Idaho… East central Power County in southeastern Idaho… * Until 530 PM MDT * At 230 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain approaching the Powerline Fire burn scar area. Doppler Radar indicates the potential for two inch per hour or greater rainfall rates. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. * Some locations that will experience flooding include… Fort Hall Bannock Creek Lodge and the Rattlesnake Creek Drainage Region within the Powerline Burn Scar area. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Rattlesnake Creek Drainage near Rattlesnake Road. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, ash, vegetation and other loose materials. Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.
