Idaho Falls mayor announces re-election

Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper announced she is running for re-election.

Casper laid out her agenda she hopes to accomplish if she is re-elected.

She wants to focus on renewing community spaces such as downtown.

She also wants to focus on growing a competitive economy by improving certain areas in the education system and expanding the fiber optic network.

Finally, she hopes to enhance the city’s energy portfolio with small modular reactors.

Casper says she’s proud of the work she’s done in the past four years and wants to keep working to make Idaho Falls a better place.

“I have learned a lot about the city,” Casper said. “And we have identified so many potential projects for the future, I want to be a part of those projects. I want to be a part of Idaho Falls’ future.”

City council member Barbara Ehart is also running for mayor. The election is November 7th.
