Weather related I-15 crashes finally cleared

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK)-UPDATE--Idaho State Police said both lanes of Interstate 15 were cleared by 10:30 p.m. Friday. Both lanes of traffic were blocked for about 2 1/2 hours.

Travelers using Interstate 15, near Blackfoot, should prepare for delays.

As of 6:15 p.m. Friday, there were reports of an approximate 6 minute delay in the southbound lanes and 8 minutes in the nortbhound lanes near the Blackfoot Rest Area., about 2 miles north of Blackfoot.

Idaho State Police are reporting multiple crashes near milepost 95 because of "treacherous" conditions.

The National Weather Service says most roads north and east of Idaho Falls are snowy and slick. Roads in the Bear Lake region are also hazardous.
