The Nation’s Weather for Thursday, December 12, 2019

An area of high pressure will be slow to leave the Northeast

tomorrow and will continue to promote dry conditions across

the region. Meanwhile, a cold front lingering over Florida

will bring periods of rain to parts of the Deep South.

Moisture will move north in the Southeast overnight and can

lead to icy spots in the far southern Appalachian Mountains.

Dry and mild conditions will continue across the southern

and central Plains. Farther north, a storm racing through

the Upper Midwest will bring a quick accumulation of snow,

while another storm is forecast to produce valley rain and

mountain snow across the Northwest. The storm track will be

far enough north in the West that the Southwest is forecast

to be largely dry with seasonable temperatures.
