The Nation’s Weather for Saturday, December 14, 2019

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

A large storm system will move into the Northeast tomorrow

as rain continues to spread across the region. Rain can

become heavy at times across parts of New England,

especially along coastal areas, and the risk for flooding in

low lying and poor drainage areas will increase. Meanwhile,

cold air wrapping in on the back side of the storm will

cause rain to change to snow across the Ohio Valley. Rain

will be ending across the Southeast, but colder air will

infiltrate the region. Farther north, an area of high

pressure will bring a fresh round of Arctic air to the

northern Plains. Unsettled conditions will continue in the

Northwest as a little snow will linger in the higher

elevations and expand into northern parts of the Great

Basin.
