The Nation’s Weather for Friday, February 28, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

Brisk winds will continue to chill the Upper Midwest and

Northeast tomorrow with snow showers and flurries

persisting. Areas downwind of the Great Lakes will get

pummeled by feet of lake-effect snow, reduced visibility and

difficult to dangerous travel on the roadways. A

quick-hitting storm is likely to tap into the fresh chill

across the East and spread a swath of snow from portions of

Kentucky and Tennessee to the southern Appalachians. The

balance of the Southeast can expect a mainly dry day, with

Florida remaining rather cool. An expansive area of high

pressure will promote dry, calm weather across much of the

central and western U.S. Record highs may fall again in

California. Some rain will reach western Washington by day’s

end.
