2 die in motorcycle-car crash near Jackson

Two Utah men were killed in a car-motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 89 about 18 miles south of Jackson at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol said Monday that 69-year-old Gloria Monk of Layton, Utah, was driving a Toyota Camry that drifted off the right side of the highway. They said she overcorrected, sending the vehicle into a broadside slide as it came back onto the highway.

Gerald West, 57, of Ogden, Utah, was traveling northbound on a Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and could not avoid colliding with the front passenger side of the car.

West was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

A passenger in the car, identified as 72-year-old Arnold Monk of Layton, also died on the scene.
