Driver crashes into Rigby Post Office
A pickup crashed into the Rigby Post Office on Tuesday.
The driver said he thought he pushed on the brakes, but he was actually pushing on the gas as he pulled in to park. A witness who was outside of the post office said she saw tires spinning fast. Skidmarks were visible on the sidewalk. The speed the truck was going when it hit the building is unknown.
Customers were inside the post office, but no one sustained major injuries. Two girls were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Rigby police said the windows would be boarded up, and the office probably would be open Wednesday.
A tow truck was towing the pickup away at 5:15 p.m.
Most of the damage was done to the building’s exterior.
