Idaho Falls man arrested on charges of robbery, attempted strangulation

An Idaho Falls man was arrested Wednesday night on charges of robbery and attempted strangulation.

Idaho Falls police said they arrived at the 2500 block of First Street at about 8 p.m. in response to a domestic disturbance, where they found a 40-year-old woman. The suspect, Jimmie Hyde, 42, had left.

Witnesses said Hyde and the woman had gotten into an argument while in a car and said Hyde punched and began to strangle the woman.

Police said Hyde then stole $200 from the woman and left. Officers found him passed out in the vehicle of a friend nearby.

Hyde was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
