New patent leads to more jobs in Idaho Falls

Are you looking for a job? Melaleuca just got a new patent and is expanding its product line. It intends to build a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Idaho Falls.

Melaleuca is taking applications right now. But before you start applying, you may want to hear about the positions and the product first.

“The U.S. Patent (Office) has issued No. 8273393, which means were going to have several hundred jobs coming to Idaho Falls,” said CEO Frank VanderSloot.

This may come as a comfort to many in the area, as the unemployment rate in Idaho is 7.4 percent.

“It’s certainly a big boom to Melaleuca, it’s a big boom to idaho falls it’s a big boom to Idaho,” said VanderSloot.

Melaleuca’s Oligo technology is the new patent. VanderSloot said the new technology helps the body absorb multi-vitamins more readily than other brands. And with the new patent, vitamins can be produced at larger amounts — causing the need for a new manufacturing and distribution facility.

“And we can pour more dollars and hire more people in research and development to boy up this technology and build on the inventions that have already been created,” said VanderSloot.

One of the main jobs will be for people to insert the Oligo into the Vitality vitamins capsules.

“But that takes some special skills of people who have done it in the past. We’ll have a training center where we can train other people on how to operate some of that high tech equipment,” he said.

VanderSloot said hundreds of jobs will come about from this new manufacturing and distribution facility. People with all types of expertise are encouraged to apply.

He said construction will begin in spring of 2013 — but they’re accepting applications as we speak. Apply for Melaleuca jobs athttp://www.melaleuca.jobs/CorporateOpportunities/Apply.aspx?bc=2
