Pocatello officers conquer intense course

Pocatello police officers proved they had what it takes on the Tough Mudder course on Saturday.

The event, which was held in Tooele, Utah, near Miller Sports Park is “probably the toughest event on the planet,” according to the Tough Mudder website. It consists of a 12-mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test their all-around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie, the police department said in a news release.

The officers who participated were Forrest Peck, Derek Daniels, Lauren Herrick, Doug Frei, Lance Cartwright, Theo Vanderschaaf, Scott Long, Eric Miller, Syd Seamons, Travis Evans, Nick Edwards and Jordan Johnson. Also on the team were Andy Evans and Tucker Bloxham.

Some of the obstacles included Kiss of Mud, Mud Mile, Cliffhanger, Funky Monkey, Everest and Electro-Shock Therapy. Twenty-one obstacles were spread throughout the 12-mile course. Many of the obstacles included freezing cold water and lots of mud.
