Fire destroys Madison County potato cellar
Fire caused an estimated $250,000 in damage to a potato cellar near Plano on Monday night.
Rexburg-Madison Emergency Services Chief Mikel Walker said firefighters were called to the cellar at 5000 North and 6000 West at about 10:30 pm.
Fifteen firefighters were on the scene until around 4 a.m. Tuesday. He said the cause of the fire was under investigation. No one was hurt, but the cellar was a complete loss.
The cellar was owned by Jeff Raybould, and the potatoes stored inside by grower Bryan Larson. The value of the potatoes was set at between $160,000 and $180,000.
