University of Phoenix to close Idaho Falls facility

Apollo Group, the parent company of the University of Phoenix, is closing 25 campuses and 90 learning centers nationwide, including phasing out the Idaho Falls Learning Center.

The Meridian campus will remain.

These are the only two locations in Idaho.

The University of Phoenix will also cut about 800 jobs nationwide, but none in Idaho.

But as for perspective, the majority of the university’s 328,000 students take classes online, which means those campuses aren’t really in demand, said spokesman Alex Clark.
