ISU president: University creates jobs
Idaho State University President Arthur Vailas gave his view on how the university fared over the last year in his State of the University address.
Vailas focused on mainly good news, saying that enrollment is up, and students are achieving more degrees than ever.
Many of the achievements Vailas mentioned Wednesday night focused around how the university is creating jobs or helping businesses grow. He said in his mind that a university’s purpose revolves around helping the economy grow, “because knowledge will bring economic development. Knowledge is the greatest gift of humanity.”
