Chubbuck and Pocatello lift burn ban

Following the lead of Bannock County a week ago, the cities of Pocatello and Chubbuck have lifted burn ban limitations. The restrictions were first enacted July 2nd as a result of high fire danger expected over the summer. The ban was lifted effective today.

Pocatello Interim Fire Chief David Gates and Chubbuck Fire Chief Eric King reviewed current fire danger and determined that significant moisture and cooler temperatures reduced the need to limit open fires within the city limits of either city.

Citizens wishing to conduct open burning must obtain the required permit from the Pocatello or Chubbuck Fire Department.
