Police: Man Tased after attacking officer

A man was arrested after Pocatello police said he attacked them in his underwear.

A man called 911 Monday around 9:30 p.m. saying he needed police to help him. He also mentioned he was taking hallucinogenic drugs, police said.

When police arrived at the address on North Second Avenue, Tyler F. Shelton, 21, “was running up and down the halls in his underwear” and said he wanted to fight officers, according to police. Shelton then charged an officer, police said, and the officer used his Taser on Shelton.

The officer got a minor injury on the knee, likely from being kicked.

Shelton was taken into custody without further incident, cleared by medical personnel and jailed on a charge of assault on an officer.
