Charlie Jensen Wins Distinguished Student Award

Charlie Jensen is a member of the Madison High School girl’s soccer team.

“They’re my sisters, and I know I can go to them with anything – and honestly we are such good friends — it’s so fun,” Jensen said.

Jensen is the goalie. It’s a tough job, but rewarding.

“I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when I play, and I love the opportunity I get to push myself and do things I didn’t think I could,” Jensen said. “One of the things I learned is that you don’t give up. When something doesn’t go your way, you just keep working hard and you keep going at it until you get it.”

Soccer has been a big part of Jensen’s life since she was 5, but she has other interests, like photography, key club and researching family history. She wants to go to college and become a nurse.

“I like the thought of helping people”, Jensen said. “I love to do service, so I wanted a job where I could help other people.”

Jensen is looking forward to the rest of her senior year. She has this advice for other students.

” I think the best thing they can do is get involved, and be kind and just be nice to people, and you’ll have friends and things will work out for you,” Jensen said.
