Remains found believed to be of missing Salmon man

Idaho State Police believe remains they found in a remote cabin to be those of a missing man from Salmon.

Detectives with the Idaho State Police discovered dismembered skeletal remains in a remote cabin and the property around around it. They were executing a search warrant on Tuesday at 13 Betty Lane in Boise County.

They believe the remains belong to Joshua James Reddington. Reddington has been missing since May 26, 2000. He was 25 at the time of his disappearance and was last seen in Idaho City during the Memorial Day weekend.

ISP said the remains and other evidence found will be analyzed in order to obtain a positive identification and cause of death. It could be several weeks before they tests results are returned, they said.

They said they will continue to investigate what now appears to be a homicide.

They ask anyone with information about Reddington’s disappearance or death is urged to contact them at 208-846-7550. Callers can remain anonymous.
