Idaho Falls church “rejoices” start of same-sex marriages

A church in Idaho Falls took some time during Sunday’s service to “rejoice” the start of same-sex marriages in Idaho.

“We are joyful to be able to welcome this day, this moment in time as a gift, a miracle of life itself,” said Rev. Lyn Cameron of the Unitarian Universalist Church.

“It is appropriate that this morning we sign and rejoice because … Idaho has joined the rest of many of the states in the nation … in honoring marriage equality,” said Cameron.

The congregation sang a hymn, following which they lit a rainbow-colored candle.

“Our rainbow candle will burn brightly today to remind us that we have moved into a new era,” said Cameron.
