Southeast Idaho enjoys extra days of warmer weather

Folks in southeastern Idaho are getting in a few extra weeks of some nice weather this time of year before the snow starts to set in.

Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Pocatello said we are seeing some unusually warm weather for this time of the year, but nothing record-setting.

They say these past couple of weeks southeast Idaho normally sees temperatures in the mid-to-low 60s, but instead the region has been running in the mid-to-high 70s – enough for folks to come out wearing shorts and t-shirts to support the Bengals’ win against Southern Utah on Saturday afternoon.

But, this unseasonally warm weather could end soon.

The National Weather Service’s Bob Survick said we could start to see the snow set-in soon.

“We do have a disturbance coming in Monday night, Tuesday, and we will get a chance to get some rain down in that area,” Survick said. “And maybe we will see some high elevation and mountain snow come out of it and even again alter toward the end of the week.”

Survick also said because we could also see a warmer, drier winter this year.
