Sheriff’s office and Ammon work together to police the city

The City of Ammon and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office work together to police the city. Officials from Ammon and the Sheriff’s Office meet multiple times a year to review the contract services.

The sheriff’s office said the contract is working very well and it benefits the city.

“They are a customer to the Bonneville County Sherrif’s Office,” said Sgt. Jeff Edwards, from Bonneville County.

The sheriff’s office does help city police departments too, but it plays a bigger roll in areas like Ammon.

“There’s a set amount of officers that are contracted to them at any time but if something goes really bad they get the benefit of the entire sheriff’s office,” said Edwards.

The sheriff’s office said the contract is going well.

“Truly it’s a great relationship we’ve had with the city of Ammon,” Edwards said.

The sheriff’s office said with Ammon expanding, a strong police force is ideal. They said the deputies who work in Ammon are some of the busiest on the job.
