Small plane crash kills four people
Four people have died after a small plane crashed Friday afternoon near Challis.
The Custer County Sheriff’s office said it happened near the Loon Creek drainage just above the Diamond-D Ranch. Ranch caretakers found the crash site at the north end of the Loon Creek air strip.
According to the sheriff’s office, the plane crashed then caught on fire and the fuselage burned away. The tail end and wings were all that was left.
