Man found dead in Salmon

Salmon Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in an RV parked at an apartment house in Salmon.

Detective Leah Madsen said police were called to the scene at around 7 a.m. Monday after the Lemhi County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call.

The man was later identified as James A. Lefler.

In a news release, Madsen said police collected evidence at several locations. An autopsy was performed under the direction of Lemhi County Coroner Mike Ernest.

At this time, police believe Lefler’s death was accidental, but the cause of death was not released.

An investigation by Salmon City Police, the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police is continuing.
