More than 6,800 crosses honor veterans

More than 6,800 crosses are currently on display at Pocatello’s Field of Heroes Memorial on the Century High School grounds.

The memorial was dedicated Friday morning. Each cross represents an American soldier who died fighting in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

“I think when you look back and you see the vast number of people who have given their lives so that we can do what we want is really breathtaking and inspiring and I think that the respect that is displayed in the field for the fallen is amazing,” said veteran Alicia Wrablik.

The memorial will be on display through Monday.
