Fireworks banned in Bannock County, parts of Pocatello
Lighting off fireworks is banned in unincorporated areas of Bannock County and parts of Pocatello.
Dry conditions prompted the restrictions.
Bannock County commissioners said fireworks and open fires are prohibited in unincorporated areas of the county. (Other areas might be under different rules.) The fire ban does not include barbecue grills, designated fire pits and burn barrels.

The Biggest Show in Idaho display is still going to happen.
Some kind of fireworks are banned everywhere in town, includingfirecrackers, skyrockets, bottle rockets, Roman candles, devices that travel on the ground when they go off and sparklers longer than 10 inches.
Police said they will issue citations, and there will be no verbal warnings.
“We take the safety of our city and our citizens very seriously. That is why we will be issuing citations on fireworks violations,” said Chief Scott Marchand.
The county commissioners also made a disaster declaration of drought, citing “significant economic losses anticipated for Bannock County producers/farmers and/or ranchers.”
