Museum holds first-ever “Moth Party”

It’s National Moth Week, and to celebrate, a local museum held its first-ever “Moth Party” Tuesday night.

The Idaho Museum of Natural History in Pocatello invited citizen scientists to help them attract and photograph moths which will be sent to scientists for identification.

“If it were one person doing this, it would take a long time, but we’re kind of crowdsourcing our science and making kind of a party out of it,” said Becky Hansis-O’Neill, education specialist at the museum.
