Educating the public on breastfeeding

It’s World Breastfeeding Week so Eastern Idaho Public Health is trying to educate the community.

Friday was the annual Picnic in the Park at Kate Curley Park in Idaho Falls. There were educational booths, games and activities for kids, and different vendors.

The purpose of the event is to inform, celebrate and support breastfeeding moms.

“To help families realize that there’s a lot of education out there, and there’s a lot of help and support,” said WIC peer counseling coordinator Hilary Coyne. “We have a lot of people in the community that value breastfeeding as much as individual peoples.”
