Raul Labrador’s stop in eastern Idaho to campaign for governor

Idaho congressman Raul Labrador is making a run for the governor’s seat. He made a stop in Idaho Falls Thursday afternoon to announce the start of his campaign.

Labrador kicked off his tour on Wednesday, but the next day he was at Melaleuca Headquarters to talk about what he plans to focus on as the next governor. His main talking points were improving the Gem State’s education and lowering taxes. But he also mentioned how he is excited for the future of the Idaho National Laboratory.

“We’re excited about the future of the INL. I have a great relationship with the new energy secretary. Rick Perry and I have been friends for many, many years. And I’m looking forward to — in a new role as governor of this state — to be able to work hand in hand with the new energy secretary and to propel the future of the INL,” Labrador said.
