Flood Warning for Teton River

Flood warnings have been expanded to the Teton river in Madison and Teton counties, Tuesday evening. Rising river levels Tuesday, prompted the National Weather Service in Pocatello, to issue the warning until Sunday afternoon or possibly longer. * Flood Warning for The Teton River near Driggs. * from late tonight to Sunday afternoon…or until the warning is cancelled. * At 7:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 4.1 feet. * Flood Stage is 4.2 feet. * Minor Flooding is forecast. * Impact…At 5.0 feet…Livestock and pasture land will be flooded. Cache Bridge boat ramp is under water. Flood Warnings continue for Lemhi and Custer Counties Lemhi: * The Salmon River has surpassed the moderate flood stage of 8.5 feet and is expected to remain near or above moderate flood stage through the week. Warm temperatures this week will melt high elevation snow and another rise is expected toward the end of the week. River levels by the end of the week may approach 9 to 9.2 feet. * Homes close to the river are currently experiencing flooding and a few more homes may experience flooding as the river rises. Farmland and and low lying areas near Salmon are also being flooded. Custer: * Warm temperatures this week will accelerate snow melt in higher elevations, and river levels throughout the region are expected to remain steady or rise. Flooding issues are expected to continue along and near the following waterways: Valley Creek in the Stanley basin, Big Wood River near Hailey and Warm Springs, Big Lost River from Howell Ranch to Mackay Reservoir and from Leslie to the Darlington Flats area below the Mackay Reservoir, and along Antelope Creek from Grouse toward Darlington. Other rivers, creeks and streams may spill over their banks as well. Many back country roads may still be inundated with water or washed out, and travel in those areas is not advised.
