Pit bull dies from heat stroke in hot car

Idaho Falls Animal Services found a female pit bull deceased in a parked vehicle left unattended on Masters Drive Thursday around 1 p.m.

Animal Services says the dog died of heat stroke.

Vehicle temperatures taken by Animal Services ranged from 105 to 156 degrees, and it’s unknown how long the dog was in the vehicle.

The dog’s owner, 26-year-old Latasha Rae Calvert Hood, was cited for animal cruelty.
