Flood Warning for Snake River expanded

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued flood warnings for the Snake River in eastern Idaho.

The latest FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Bingham county in and around Blackfoot. A FLOOD WARNING continues for the Snake River near Heise, the Henry’s Fork near Rexburg and the Teton River.

The Flood Warning continues for The Snake River at Blackfoot. * At 11:15 AM Wednesday the stage was 10.5 feet. * Flood Stage is 10.5 feet. * Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast. * Impact…At 11.0 feet…Minor flooding will occur in the Riverton area and in the Watson slough area. The Flood Warning continues for the following Rivers in Idaho.. Snake River near Heise AFFECTING Bonneville…Jefferson and Madison Counties * At 12:01 PM Wednesday the stage was 8.1 feet. * Flood Stage is 8.0 feet. * Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast. * Forecast…The River will continue rising to near 8.2 feet by this evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter. * Impact…At 8.0 feet…Flooding near the Warm Springs Resort area is possible. The Flood Warning continues for the following Rivers in Idaho.. Henrys Fork near Rexburg AFFECTING Fremont…Jefferson and Madison Counties * from late tonight to Friday morning…Or until the Warning is cancelled. * At 11:31 AM Wednesday the stage was 9.3 feet. * Flood Stage is 9.5 feet. * Minor Flooding is forecast. * Impact…At 9.5 feet…Minor flooding of farmland near the river will occur between the confluence of the Snake River and upstream to near St. Anthony. Lower Beaver Dick Park is under water and some picnic shelters are inaccessible. Portions of Warm Slough Access will be under water. Teton River near Driggs AFFECTING Teton County * At 11:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 4.0 feet. * Flood Stage is 4.2 feet. * Minor Flooding is forecast. * Impact…At 4.2 feet…Lowland flooding occurs along the river in the Teton River bottoms from Bates Bridge Sportsman`s access down-river to Idaho Highway 33 and further down-river to 1000 North. Some river access boat ramps will be under water. Water may cover a portion of 600 South or North Cedron Road.
