Russ Fulcher to run for congress

Russ Fulcher will no longer run for governor of Idaho. The former state senator made the announcement Thursday morning.

According to Fulcher’s campaign website he will run for Raul Labrador’s seat- who recently announced his bid for governor.

In a statement Fulcher said “I believe that the government exists to serve the people, not the other way around. As Idaho enters a new era, we must make sure that the government acts within its proper Constitutional role. After careful consideration and a lot of prayer, it has become clear to me that Idaho’s First Congressional District is in need of an experienced, dedicated conservative.

I’m an international businessman and former State Senator with a solid record of elevating the interests of Idaho families over those of government. I believe I have the right qualifications to do the job, and I would like to ask for your support as I seek to serve you as the next Congressman from the State of Idaho!”
