Rexburg to launch summer at Porter Park carousel
The city of Rexburg will launch the summer season with a kickoff event at the historic Porter Park Carousel.
Rexburg resident Patricia Burton led an effort to restore the carousel in 1990 to help commemorate the community’s Centennial.
The carousel came to town as a traveling carnival machine for a 1952 4th of July celebration. The equipment was destroyed by the Teton Dam flood in 1976.
The Summer Carousel Kickoff is scheduled May 25 in Porter Park.
