College of Eastern Idaho eyes an enrollment high
The College of Eastern Idaho has some celebrating to do. Fall enrollment has nearly doubled since this time last year.
To date, the school has nearly 1,000 students enrolled. Compared to numbers at this time in 2017, it had close to 500.
The schools President, Rick Aman, expects by fall semester to have more than 1,500 students. He attributes it to being a new community college.
“Now we can offer the first two years of a baccalaureate degree,” Aman said. “That’s something we couldn’t do last year as a technical college. That’s just going to explode.”
The school is interested in the ‘go on’ rate from high to college. It expects to see many high school juniors and seniors continue their education at CEI.
