Missing Fort Hall girl found safe

UPDATE 8/4/2018 10:15 a.m.: The missing child has been found safe according to Bannock County Sheriff’s Office.

Update: 8-3 5:15 a.m.
The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes have suspended an overnight search on the Fort Hall Reservation. The effort will begin again at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Fort Hall Business Council Chairman Nathan Small said 192 volunteers and other tribal agencies participated in search efforts overnight.

Fort Hall Fire Chief Brian Briggs will oversee search efforts Saturday.

If additional volunteers are needed, requests will be issued at that time.

Shoshone-Bannock public safety personnel launched a search Friday night for a missing 2-year-old girl.

The Ft. Hall Emergency Operations Center was activated early Saturday morning to coordinate search efforts by volunteers and virtually all other Tribal resources.

Portneuf Air Rescue has also been conducting overflights of the affected search area northwest of Fort Hall.
