Idaho Falls teen charged after bringing knife to school

A 15 year old Idaho Falls High School student has been referred to juvenile court after displaying a knife at the school.

Idaho Falls police said two girls, ages 17 and 14, reported the boy pulled out a knife at the school Thursday.

Although the boy said he was “just fooling around,” the girls said they felt threatened and notified school administrators, police said Wednesday.

The boy was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of possessing a weapon on school grounds and threatening other students with it.

The Idaho Falls District 91 School Board will hold a due-process hearing after spring break. The potential action could range from changing the student’s school placement to expulsion.
