Rexburg mayor, City Council may get raise

Rexburg’s mayor and City Council may get a raise for the first time since 2008.

Based on recommendations from a citizen’s committee, the mayor’s pay would be increased to $67,592. Mayor Richard Woodland currently earns $58,944 per year.

City Council salaries would increase from the current $4,800 to $7,200.

The raise was approved on first reading. The proposal will need to pass two more times to take effect.
